Yes. Sound Booster is free to use. There is no subscription, account or sign-up.
The slider goes from 0% to 600%. 100% is the tab’s original level; 0% mutes it. Increase volume gradually to avoid distortion.
It works with audio and video played in supported Chrome tabs, including YouTube, Spotify, Netflix and Twitch. Some protected or browser-internal pages may not allow capture.
On Windows and Linux, press F11 to enter or leave Chrome’s browser fullscreen mode (some laptops require Fn + F11). On macOS, use Control + Command + F. Set your boost in the extension before going fullscreen. If a video’s own fullscreen button stops working while tab audio is being captured, try F11 for browser fullscreen instead.
Chrome’s tab-capture behavior can interfere with a player’s own fullscreen control on some sites. F11 switches the whole browser into fullscreen and is a useful workaround. Press F11 again to exit.
Voice boost emphasizes speech frequencies to help dialogue stand out. Bass boost adds weight to lower frequencies for music, films and games. Choose a preset in the popup.

Yes. Once audio boosting starts, the extension’s audio engine is designed to keep running after the popup closes. Chrome may stop a capture session when a tab is closed or changes pages.
Yes. Extremely high levels can cause distortion, listener fatigue or harm to your hearing and speakers. Start low, raise the level slowly, and reduce it if audio clips or sounds harsh.
Chrome can end tab capture after a navigation or page refresh. Open the extension on the affected tab and move the slider to start it again.
